Director of Operations

David joined Mayday in 2015 with a wealth of criminal justice experience gained from working within the National Offender Management Service (NOMs) for over 16yrs. During his time with the prison service he worked with a wide range of offenders and experienced the resettlement challenges for people leaving prison. He worked in several establishments including young offenders and within therapeutic male adult establishments. David was involved in designing and managing a specialist therapeutic wing for learning difficulty offenders at HMP Grendon. He was also able to work overseas to observe practice in European criminal penal environments. David is driven by fairness and social equality. He understands that to tackle the challenges of rough sleeping and homelessness the underlying causes require a creative and innovative approach.

“When I made the decision to leave the public sector it was because I could clearly see the vision which Mayday presented. A progressive vision which was built around people; a realisation that people had the answers to their own specific problems and that with the right bespoke support could thrive in the community. The team have an energy and vibrancy delivering solution focused outcomes leading to positive and viable outlooks for the people we work with”.
