Mayday Trust is a well-established provider of supported housing, operating within Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire. The Trust’s aim is to help vulnerable adults acquire the necessary skills to live independently.
Core Funding
Supporting People: 2003 saw the introduction of the Supporting People programme. Managed by local government, this service funds and monitors the provision of supported housing across the UK.
Supporting People offers a working partnership with a range of agencies including local government, the voluntary sector and service-users. Its objectives are to ensure strategic relevance, value for money and quality of support.
Supporting People reviews for all relevant Mayday schemes were completed by November 2005. In the most recent reviews (Warwickshire) Mayday Trust was regarded as one of the best providers in the county. The Trust is continuing to develop and improve its service, ensuring that provision is tailored to the changing requirements of our local communities.
Supporting People funding provides revenue and running costs associated with the provision of this support.
Housing Benefit: Mayday Trust’s housing costs are largely recovered through accommodation charges, payable by the resident. In most cases, residents are able to claim Housing Benefit to cover the vast majority of these costs.
Social Services: The Trust also receives additional funding from Social Services to provide further support and/or care in response to residents need.
